The Opening Ceremony of European Universities Handball Championship took place on 4th of July in Bydgoszcz at Centre of Education in Physical Culture and Sport. The Ceremony was attended by Ms Maria Carmen Manchado Lopez, Mr Filipe Santos, Mr Leopold Kalin, Ms Lea Medvesek, Mr Liam Smith, the vice-president of the Bydgoszcz city Ms Iwona Waszkiewicz, Prorector for Development and Cooperation of Kazimierz Wielki University Mr Marek Macko, Director of Competion Department of Polish Handball Federation Mr Mirosław Baum, vice-president of Academic Sports Association Mr Mariusz Walczak, and President of Kuyavian-Pomeranian Organization of Academic Sports Association Mr Marek Karpiński.

On behalf of the Organising Committee participants were welcomed by the OC president Ms Katarzyna Domańska.

EUSA Executive Committee representative Mr Filipe Santos welcomed all participants and wished all the teams and participants who came to test their skills and abilitieswell ahead of the start of the competition, while also thanking the Organising Committee for all their contributions.

The competition is organised by Academic Sports Association and Kazimierz Wielki University with the contribution of Polish Handball Federation.

In previous years, KU AZS UKW in Bydgoszcz organized the World University Shooting Sport Championship and many National Academic Championships in various disciplines.

Championship will take place from 4th to 10th in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

EUSA is represented by Lea Medvesek and the Technical Delegate is Maria Carmen Manchado Lopez. They will make sure that the event will run smoothly and without problems. The Competition will host 11 male teams and 11 female teams from as many as 19 universities from 11 countries.
