EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES HANDBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2019 – FINAL DAY

The European Universities Handball Championship 2019 has finally concluded on 10th July with an exciting Closing Ceremony in Artego Arena in Bydgoszcz.

Over 350 participants from 19 Universities from 11 countries took part in this year’s edition of the event.

In men’s finals, the title of champion went to University of Granadawho won a thrilling final match against German Sport University Cologne.

 

In women’s finals, the title of champion went to Vincent Pol University in Lublin who won an exciting final match against University of Hamburg.

The Best Goalkeeper Awards were given to Victoria Nigbur (University of Hamburg) and Nils Thorben Schmidt (German Sport University Cologne).The awards were presented by Mr. SzymonLigarzewski – former goalkeeper of the Polish National Team.

The Top Scorer Awards were given to Laura Pirello (Aix-Marseille University) and Oliver Martin Dasburg (University of Bochum). The awards were presented by Ms. Carmen Manchado Lopez- the Technical Delegate, and Mr. Leopold Kalin – The Assistant of the Technical Delegate.

The MVP Awards were given toJoannaSzarawaga (Vincent Pol University in Lublin) and Jose Antonio Bravo Gomez (University of Granada). The awards were presented byMr. Marek Macko – Deputy Rector for Development and Cooperation and Ms. Elżbieta Wiewióra – The Representative of the President of Bydgoszcz.

The Fair Play Awards were given to University of Valencia and University Union - Nikola Tesla. The awards were presented by Mr. ArnijsBrencans - EHF Exectutive Member.
